November 11~12, 2015 China indium bismuth germanium gallium selenium tellurium industry annual meeting held in Beijing. Wang Qinhua, vice president of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and president of indium bismuth germanium branch, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Relevant enterprises and research institutes responsible for attending the meeting.
It is understood that the six varieties of indium, bismuth, germanium, gallium, selenium, and tellurium are important components of the non-ferrous metal industry. They play an irreplaceable role in upgrading traditional industries and developing high-tech. With the rapid development of the downstream application industry, my country has developed into a major producer of indium, bismuth, germanium, gallium, selenium and tellurium. Since the beginning of this year, in the face of a series of problems such as increasing downward pressure on the economy, intensifying contradictions between supply and demand, rising operating costs, and resource and environmental constraints, the whole industry of indium, bismuth, germanium, gallium, selenium, and tellurium has calmly responded and acted proactively, and the overall operation of the industry remains stable. Indium prices fell deeply and consumption grew steadily. Affected by factors such as the decrease in investment demand and the increase in social inventory, from January to October 2015, the average price of domestic spot refined indium was 2456 yuan/kg, a year-on-year decrease of more than 50%; there were bright spots in consumption, and the production capacity of domestic small and medium-sized indium targets increased rapidly., Large-size indium targets are also in the stage of commercial trial production, and indium consumption is expected to increase year by year. In the future, supply tightening, demand expansion and consumption upgrading will be the stage characteristics of the development of China's indium industry. Germanium backbone enterprises lead, endogenous power gradually appear. China's germanium industry is highly concentrated and basically in a healthy and orderly stage of development, therefore, in the overall market environment is unfavorable, germanium prices are relatively strong, so that the industry in difficult times to maintain a relatively good development trend. From January to October, the average price of molten germanium in the domestic area was 9465 yuan/kg, down 21% year-on-year, which was significantly smaller than that of other small metal varieties. Bismuth prices continue to decline, the industry actively respond. Affected by the slow process of economic recovery in Europe and the United States and the slowdown in domestic economic growth, the external demand for bismuth is weak and domestic demand is weak, resulting in a continuous decline in bismuth prices. According to the branch quotation, the average domestic price of refined bismuth from January to October 2015 was 92374 yuan/ton, down 36.06 percent from the same period last year. In the face of pressure from price, consumption, inventory and other aspects, bismuth production enterprises, especially backbone enterprises, have the courage to take responsibility, adjust the relationship between supply and demand and reduce operating costs by actively limiting production and reducing production, optimizing raw materials and product structure, and achieved certain results. At present, the trend of rapid decline in bismuth prices has been eased. The prices of gallium, selenium and tellurium have fallen to the lowest point in ten years, but the application development in strategic emerging industries and health industries is still expected.
In this regard, Wang Qinhua said that although my country's indium, bismuth, germanium, gallium, selenium, and tellurium industries are currently facing a series of problems such as low domestic direct consumption, periodic surplus of supply, and high inventory, from the perspective of development trends, The industry still has very broad prospects, and requires a unified understanding of the entire industry, firm confidence, and group heating to jointly promote the sustainable and healthy development of the industry. First of all, there is great potential for expanding applications. Expanding applications and meeting needs is the ultimate goal of industrial development. From the demand side, although the level of domestic direct consumption is still low, downstream demand support is insufficient, but the growth space is huge. In terms of indium, the flat panel display field is developing rapidly, and it is expected that indium consumption will increase year by year in the next few years; in terms of bismuth, bismuth is a typical environmentally friendly and healthy metal. With the improvement of people's lives, bismuth consumption will generally increase; germanium In terms, with the implementation of the "Broadband China Strategy", the optical fiber field will drive the rapid growth of domestic germanium consumption; in terms of gallium, my country has become the world's largest gallium consumer, and it is also one of the countries with the fastest growth in downstream consumption, and the selenium and tellurium industry is also growing. Therefore, in general, the future development of scattered metals has the characteristics of scale expansion, high-end application and clear prospects. Second, innovation-driven prospects. Relying on technological innovation, continuously improving material performance, meeting the needs of high-end manufacturing, and providing an inexhaustible driving force for the development of the industry. New progress has been made in the research and development of mobile terminal devices, and smart wearable devices and flexible display technology have gradually entered our daily lives. The rapid development of these fields has put forward new requirements for the improvement of material performance, which is not only a potential market for expanding applications., Is also the direction of innovation-driven efforts. Third, international cooperation is promising. It is an important direction for the development of China's rare metal industry to make overall use of both international and domestic resources and two markets and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation. Small metals should also "go out" and make a "Chinese voice" on the international stage ". my country's scattered metals have comparative advantages in terms of resources and production, but the development of functional materials and device preparation is still relatively lagging. Scientific and technological research and development needs to be further strengthened, and application fields need to be further expanded. Foreign exchanges and cooperation can be strengthened, so that good technologies can be introduced. Come in, let good products go out, and create a good industry development environment. In the context of the integration of the global economy, international cooperation is the general trend. Industry companies must uphold an inclusive and mutually beneficial mentality to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results for domestic and foreign industries. Fourth, structural optimization stimulates vitality. At present, China's rare metal industry is actively promoting structural adjustment and industrial upgrading. This is a major task for the sustainable development of the industry, and it has a long way to go. However, in the process of structural optimization, new process technologies, production methods, industrial forms, and business models will continue to emerge, which will definitely enhance the vitality of the industry. Especially through the survival of the fittest and mergers and reorganizations, the intensive management and international competitiveness of China's rare metal industry will surely be further improved.
At the same time, the meeting held four sessions of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association indium bismuth germanium branch. Wang Qinhua made a report on the work of the branch entitled "Firmly Developing Confidence, Innovating Development Concepts and Jointly Promoting the Sustainable and Healthy Development of the Indium, Bismuth and Germanium Industry. In her report, she made arrangements for the key work of the branch in 2016, mainly including: making a good layout for the development of the industry around the 13th Five-Year Plan; Carefully prepare for the 2016 special meeting; Strengthen industry research and do a good job in policy services; Deepen international exchanges and keep up with global developments; Optimize the working mode and improve the service quality and level; Carry out the branch change work smoothly and orderly.
During the meeting, the representatives analyzed the current situation of indium, bismuth, germanium, gallium, selenium and tellurium industries, and put forward suggestions for future development. After the meeting, representatives will also go to Hanergy Holding Group to visit its "Film Product Experience Center" and "Clean Energy Exhibition Center".
